Goorie Arts is 100% owned and operated by local Kabi Kabi Sunshine Coast Traditional owner Lyndon Davis. Trading in authentic Aboriginal products, focusing on art and merchandise produced here on the Sunshine Coast by local Aboriginal artists. Or Fair Trade authentic and ethically sourced products benefiting the Aboriginal artists and communities across Australia. ‘Goorie’ is a term used by local Aboriginal people to describe where in the country we live. Here in South East Queensland we use ‘Goorie’. Further north Queensland is ‘Murri’. In NSW they say Koorie and in Western Australia ‘Nungar’. Lyndon started Goorie Arts to promote and support the local Aboriginal art community and to remove the former fake Aboriginal arts produced offshore that have been flooding Australia’s retail market for many years.
